Model Off Duty — Look #1
New York Fashion Week is over. It's a good moment to catch a breather from the fashion inspiration taking me by storm, making me come up with fierce, just-off-the-runway looks.
This week's theme is relaxed. Like a "model off duty," in fact. It's an undefined style, which lives somewhere between effortlessly gorgeous and casual to the core.
Let's start with one of the simplest items to wear: a T-shirt. We all have them on hand. Impulse purchases, gifts, school insignias, or favorite artist quotes — there are always a few tees in rotation. Mine is black with print and patches. A second easy-to-pull-off item, which will make you look well-put-together, is a pair of leather leggings. Every girl needs one. (If you don't have one, I've linked to a few favorites in the shopping links below.)
From there, add a pair of black heels. The pointed-toe Chelsea boots I'm wearing have the ability to elevate any pair of leggings or pants above the ordinary. Adding them to the leather leggings makes a glam statement. But not on purpose. It's a way to look stylish without investing too much thought. Even the hair is on break for this look — a "wash 'n go" kind of style.
An oversized denim jacket I've embellished with a bunch of patches for a '90s effect goes perfectly with the look. It takes away from the dark seriousness of all the black, adding a bit of cartoonish humor with Mickey and Donald patches. Just grab a fun-colored purse, super-dark shades, and voila! (And don't forget a nice watch!)
Less effort and more style, Gorge!
